i had the privilege to marry my best friend. for something that i never thought possible, i cannot imagine a more perfect day. all of the feelings and emotions are still swirling in my head. all of them great.
mary picked me up that morning and after brunch and a quick walk we went and got our hair and nails done-god love the pedicure! then we went and got ready. my parents had just moved into a new place the monday of that week, amongst boxes and games from marys childhood i got to put on the prettiest dress ever!
of course while we were waiting to get our hair done, i realized that i did not bring my veil, thankfully i am handy with hair pins!
grandma even got in on the picture taking action!!
my mother made my garter out of lace from her wedding veil,
then it was time to leave.
you know you have the best maid of honor ever when she makes sure that EVERYTHING is in the car before the door closes! in what seemed like a blink of an eye we got to the seaport, and i had seen kevin drive in right in front of us. we had wanted to have some type of reveling type thing with just the two of us, but it really didnt turn out that way. it really didnt matter!
please note the not so thrilled look on nicks face, for the most part he didnt like the tux, it was only on the way home, after everything when he goes “I look pretty good in this…”
then it was time for the formal pictures. for a while i had debated on whether or not to wear makeup. i only ever wear mascara, so i eventually decided that i wouldnt change anything. i am so glad i did, if i had worn makeup all of the these pictures would include my face melting off…
and with kevins family…
and of course us!
we took the boat down the river, through the draw bridge and out to the sound. everyone we passed was cheering and wishing us luck and congratulations. when the sun had just started to set we started the ceremony. of course there were tears, mostly on my part-which nick appreciated…
then we were MARRIED!
the ride back included a spectacular sunset on one side of the boat.
and a full moon rising on the other side.
the perfect ending to a perfect day!
